John Martis, "Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe: Representation and the Loss ofthe Subject"

Ebook Download | John Martis, "Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe: Representation and the Loss of the Subject" | This is the first full-length book in English on Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe, and will definitely be a valuable guide and companion for students and experts. If you are interested in Lacoue-Labarthe, but haven't yet or don't know how to start, this is a great way to go. Lacoue-Labarthe was one of the names on my list for the future, but even before I was halfway through the second chapter of Martis's book I was surfing the net looking for the best price for Typography. If you have already been initiated into the debates of contemporary philosophy you'll find Martis very engaging, illuminating and rewarding. And if you're interested in German romanticism, Kant, Hegel etc the book distils and clarifies many issues. When I first flicked through the book in the library I decided that I didn't want to spend much time on the chapter on Heidegger and Nazism, because there is so much more I want to learn about Heidegger. And that is precisely what Martis does in this chapter. Lastly, I recommend the other titles too in this series. The editors are doing a really laudable service to the philosophical community at large. I remember reading a while ago Edith Wyschogrod's book on Levinas. My attempt to get into Levinas by bypassing the commentaries was not very successful. Wyschogrod's book put me on the right track. Indispensable reading for those thinking about the subject of the Subject.
