Ebook Download | Designing Audio Power Amplifiers | I only recently encountered Bob Cordell's work and was lucky to pick up a copy of this book during a recent trip over to the US. This book is an important addition to the body of work on amplifier design. It complements popular and well-regarded books by Self and Duncan (which I also have), yet provides further enlightenment on a number of very useful topics.
Cordell is strong on simulation and measurement, and has studied the causes of (and effects of) dynamic crossover distortion in a wide range of output stages. I like the way that he is even-handed about subjectivism versus optimism; there's too much dogma on both sides of that debate. Cordell's approach is "if you think this aspect of amplifier behaviour is a problem, here's how to fix it". This book has rekindled my own interest in power amplifiers and I will be referring to it regularly. I recommend it highly.
